Your Special Thing

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

In the car you’re as happy as can be Talking about your day at school The friends you play with, the books you read How everyone is really cool!

Then you remember the book you left The panic and fear set in ‘How could I leave my book?’ you say The tears and the yelling begin

I try to distract you, But the tears are still falling You can only focus on one thing The feeling of leaving your one special thing

In time you calm down And the anxiety goes away These times for you I know are hard But you will and do carry on with your day

You know you will have your book back soon And that everything will be OK To watch you go through this hurts me But I know you will always be OK
