Trains

Updated: Sep 20, 2019

I watch you from across the room Playing silently with your trains Lining them up one by one Like soldiers on parade

The tracks are straight Not a curve in sight But watching you play Brings me so much delight!

This game you’ve played a thousand times

Seems to fill you with glee Surrounded by a dozen other toys The trains are all you see

Your hands are gently flapping Your head tilted to one side Is that happiness you’re feeling Maybe it is pride?
